What does stamp 'Silver' mean?

    I have this turquoise nugget bead necklace and the clasp is marked 'Silver'. Does anyone know what this indicates in regard to the silver content? 925? coin? silver plate?

    That kind of marking is most often Asian. Generally on 95-99%.

    Seconded on older Asian pieces. Sometimes not as old as we'd think.
