    Resize_20240615_224855_5236.jpg Hi all,
I'm a newbie here ...I came across this old fire extinguisher in my mum's loft.
I've done a bit research but cannot find the same one online, can anyone here shed any light on it,and is it worth keeping or any value to it.
It probably does need a good clean.

    Many thanks Andrew

Well it certainly has some value. Hopefully you found a ‘good one’. I certainly couldn’t find it searching online (but maybe I missed it which happens a lot)

If it’s a ‘rare’ and sought after manufacture the collectors would definitely want it and maybe for ‘good’ money (if complete and in overall good condition and you don’t need to clean it) Best to just leave it as you found it until you know what you have.

Cool thing to find in the loft, hopefully there’s some other little treasures.

Old-fashioned pyrene style water-pump. Turn the handle, pump, and it spits out the retardant to douse the flames. Then you can refill it later. From what I recall, they hold about 1 liter.

Not water, Carbon Tetrachloride. If it is full, I would NOT use it. Carbon tet was great for fires, but made phosgene gas when used. I always laughed, they made these for aircraft also. Great news, you put out the fire, then where poisoned and crashed the plane and died anyway. Not worth much money.
