I should have been too young, but I was "mature" for my age (and completely wild!) .

I was too busy turning 12 and burying my nose in a book.

Feeling better, not 100%, so hubby drove me down to Ocean City NJ (half hour away) to take in sea air. Afterwards, stopped at a thrift near 3 pm, lady was putting out some jewelry, will photograph later, but my favorite thing was this homemade Mrs. Sock Monkey for $5. My dad loved to wear these socks.

The beach isn't my thing, but you have to love a sock monkey.

I don't ever sit on the beach, I go to walk the boards and for the sea air. Sunset Beach in Cape May is different....it's not a swimming beach, people pull up chairs and put their feet in the water. Horseshoe crabs come ashore to spawn and lay eggs, and we all hunt for Cape May Diamonds. The sock monkey is handmade, I love her.

I've had several things I've been happy and surprised with but these little pieces are exciting. Holt Howard Pixieware cream and sugar. Perfect condition. At the checkout, I said I'd wrap them. Cashier brought me a box so I unwrapped the sugar lid and was rewrapping it and talking to her and felt the neck snap in the paper! I was so angry with myself! Almost all of those that are sold have been repaired right where mine broke. So I got out my trusty Superglue and put it back together this morning. 89c each piece! 20240615_122634.jpg

It should sell for around $100!

Oh, should mention the Waterford vases I found last week. Dropped $50 on them. Can't believe how gorgeous they look since I washed them, 1 at a time in my sink. They weigh a ton! 20240612_100407.jpg

I don't I've ever seen colored Waterford before. Sweet!

The Holt Howard... ouch. I felt that SNAP from here. OTOH if it was already cracked it beats having it break completely in transit.

    Wow such lovely finds.
I also had HH items like yours and the lid is prone to breakage. They are adorable even so.
Those waterford vases are certainly something I have never seen before but they are wonderful.

Firstly apologies for the photos, reflective glass, cluttered background etc.

I picked this up in a clearance on Friday

The glass dome is 30 inches high and the base 10 inches across

Google Glass research says a Victorian papier mache Pedlar Doll.

This one has a sign on the doll, Stephensons Licence to Peddle 1840

I know what a Licenced Pedlar is, but were these things made by little girls at school like Samplers ?

I remember one coming up in U.K. Antiques Roadshow. It looked quite scary as her face had been eaten away, the clip is on Facebook.

Hemis Kachina doll figurine by Janice Martin (18cm tall) Looks almost brand new. I know these are still being made. However is Janice Martin also still making dolls? Some of her work is being described as vintage can this be correct? What do you all think of the age of this one? Certainly looks very new to me. Thanks
