Featured Bulb glass vase- comments please

Hi all, Yes,I know basically nothing about glass items. This however was not even a $1 and I like it. I thought it might have some age? Vintage? (Or maybe it’s just dirty ) a Studio vase? Made last ‘week’? It 17cm tall and 13cm wide.

Hm. That shape is like a fire extinguisher glass grenade. I think it’s a bottle, anyhow.

 

Ok.Thank you for the reply. I did begin to wonder if it’s maybe a bottle (because of the ‘reinforced’ lip) Will google fire extinguisher glass grenade (don’t know that)

I suppose it could very well
be a fire grenade (if it is then it’s not a very pretty example,as you get some beautiful bottles) The size is within the specification. But the necks of the bottles were usually longer (for throwing it) and thinner it looks like. Maybe this was a type that was mounted and hanging from a roof of a workshop or factory.

 

Not sure this is a fire extinguisher Grenade. To me the neck doesn’t look typical enough? Any other thoughts or comments? Thanks

 

I was at a sale a few weeks ago and there were a couple of pieces similar to this, one had a label on the bottom, West Elm Decorative Use Only (or something like that). I've never heard of them before, no idea if the company is new or old, but it might be an avenue to check out

Had a look,they have big selection. I didn’t see something very similar (vases and bottles) They do also stock items from recycled glass. I will have another look.

sorry, I didn't realize they are a catalogue/distributor of items, so yes, a big selection.

here is one the same as I saw that had a label on the bottom. Comparing the collars on them, they don't seem to be by the same maker - sorry, looks like I sent you on a wild goose chase
