Featured Any Opinion on the Age of This Blown Glass Vase?

    Hi,
I've had this vase for years, but it was put away. I just took it out and now am wondering about its age. It glows light green under a UV lamp, so I'm assuming 19th century. It has a rough pontil and is clear except for a slight yellowish tint to the base where the glass is thicker. But what sets this apart are the many many tiny air bubbles throughout the glass. Is it American? Has anyone ever seen something similar?
    Thanks for looking!

When I see glass with that many bubbles I always think Mexico.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

I don't think you mentioned a size, but as I remember, it looks like what Mom always called a "Spooner".....to put spoons in............hers were always plain, but heavy, thick-ish glass.......

Sorry, I should have mentioned size. 8 3/4" tall, not a spooner, definitely a vase.
I know what you mean and Mexico did cross my mind. The glass, to me, appears to be better quality. It has a "bell-like" ring when tapped and is not as thick as the Mexican glass that I've seen. The slight fluorescence under UV light means that there is manganese in the glass - I don't know if manganese was used in Mexican glass, maybe, I'm not sure.

No dear, its not .Theres zero wear on the base for one thing . It could have sat in a cabinet for 150 years untouched, but that has never been anything but a humble piece. They would have used it in a humble home. I still think Mexican ,probably recycled . In my humble opinion,of course.
