IMG_0838.jpeg IMG_0839.jpeg TOA for your guidance! What type glass would this be? Measures 4” in diameter and has the pontil, so blown with applied handle, base and rim. TIA!

My blind guess would be Murano, but I'm no glassie.

I don’t think Murano glass leaves the pontil broken off like that. Most all I’v seen are polished down. *shrugs*

It's almost definitely not Chinese, although the quality of their glasswork has improved a lot, and doesn't look like something an American would do. That's why i went for Murano, but it could be from somewhere else in Italy. Maybe Poland?

Cheers. I’m inclined to a Murano furnace.

So Bear, I looked up the term Murano Furnace and don’t see a specific definition. I see jewelry for sale referred to as Murano furnace…does it simply refer to the glass being constructed in the furnace? What am I missing? Thanks! Just interested in understanding more

Sorry! Furnace is the term used to mean a maker or factory. So, a Murano furnace means a Murano maker.
