Featured Identify marks on mystery box

So no feet. And signed with a monogram in the upper left hand corner with 8/3 below.

You're ahead of me. I couldn't be sure that was an 8 or a 3. But I suppose it's difficult to make clear marks in metal!

 

Here's a box with the same mark. Offered by an auction house in The Netherlands. Identified as "in the style of Alfred Daguet." Marked with "Monogram ZZ" plus 2 numbers in an x/x format plus the word "Silven." c. 1900. Sold for €200.

Well, we don't know the maker or country of origin. But we know the style and era and have a directional value.

Is it possible to learn more? I don't know how you knew this much.

The key missing piece of information is the maker. The signature "Silven" gets me nowhere on the internet nor does the monogram "ZZ" (which looks more like a reversed, stylized "SS" to my eye.) You may get no further than "in the style of..."
