I have this small vase that is hand incised on the underside. I can definitely make out Holland, but I'm unsure of the rest. I assume that this is studio pottery, but because I can't make out the signature I can't identify the maker, which may be a possibly known potter or an unknown one. Beautifully glazed and appears to have age. Does anyone recognize this?

Nice vase, it looks first half of the 20th century.

The second word is Swalmen, which is the name of a (former) town in Limburg, SE Netherlands. Swalmen is located between the river Meuse and the border with Germany.
The Meuse valley, with its rich river clay, has many artisan potteries, and this was probably made by one of them.
The proximity to Germany explains the German-sounding surname, Leben.

So this was made in Limburg, not Holland. And the style is southern Dutch, not Hollandish.
Unfortunately many people outside the Netherlands don't know the name of our country. They only know the collective name of two of our twelve provinces, North and South Holland, so Holland. As a result some Dutch people outside Holland feel they have to mark their products 'Holland'.:arghh:

@Any Jewelry, so interesting! Thank you for clarifying that word for me. I guess that Leben G would not be a well known potter if there were a number of artisan potteries in existence. I wonder if there is a reference book with the names of potters in the Netherlands from that time

As far as I know there are only books about the better known names. Of which there are many too.;)

There is a bi-annual ceramics market in Swalmen (English page):

    https://keramiekmarktswalmen.nl/en/home-2/

The organisers are makers as well as collectors. You could contact them and ask about your vase, I wouldn't be surprised if someone were able to tell you more about the maker.
This is the 'about' page, with a contact form at the bottom of the page:

    https://keramiekmarktswalmen.nl/en/about-us/

    English won't be a problem.:)
