Isn't Shangas of Straits Chinese descent? If so, he might be able to provide an opinion.

Thank you all so much for your input! This is super helpful!

Susan...indeed if that seller has 10 to sell, it's not as rare as I was hoping! That's ok...it's still pretty:)

    Thank you all! You rock!!

Susan, that Kamcheng jar is exactly the same as mine. He's selling his for $1,800? Surely it's not worth that much...is it?

With that seller having at least 10, no doubt others have a multitude of them also. Soooo is it worth that ..... in our dreams would be my thought. Do note the seller had this same jar pictured on another site in 2009. My assumption is that he can't sell it or any of them.

The other webpage with all the pics of it and the same description was last updated in 2013 which means he hasn't sold any from this site either.

Following is a listing of Kamcheng jars that presumably have sold on eBay.

One on the page is similar to yours in shape. It sold for $60.00 something.

There is one that presumably sold for $3,000 something in a famille rose. The word rare is used. Note at the very bottom of page, it has issues like finial missing and a glaze crack. All the detail pics of it are no longer up. As it had 47 bids, obviously it was recognized by many as indeed being rare. authentic antique Chinese porcelain is selling very very well.

Yours looks just too new and may be fancifully marked for haven't spotted another mark even similarly to it on the gotheborg.com noted oriental marks website. Yours probably could be called a Chinese Straits/Peranakan porcelain, but I'm not sure if it is a Kamcheng pot for it's shape isn't like the others. I just don't know enough about Oriental pottery/porcelain to even venture a guess.
