I picked up this cute little pendant today. I was wondering if the sapphire is lab created. When I shine a light on the stone the star seems to move away from the light. Also, I thought the lines are just a bit too perfect. This means it is lab created, right? If it were a natural stone, then the star would follow the light, right? Also I am thinking 1950’s. Do y’all agree?

    Thanks!!

The underside looks strange to me.
I think Linde star and mid century.
    It's pretty, I like it.

I would guess lab created, but since it's in a 14K setting, you might want a jeweler to look at it as well.

I did notice most of the Linde sapphires were in gold filled settings.

Testing seconded. I don't think a Linde star will test as sapphire/ruby. The back looks odd for a real stone, so testing is a good idea.
