Greetings All. I’ve given up. Really tried searching and can find nothing. IMG_2024-06-03-150615.jpeg IMG_2024-06-03-150631.jpeg Large ceramic vessel and it was sold as 80s to 90s. I know it’s new for here but hope someone can decipher the sig. I have no info at all. It’s about 18” in length.

OK, time to give back on a small level:
Help me with these sigs :D
First sig on a painting (on wood, as you can see by the woodworm holes ...)
    image3.jpeg
The second letter seems to be a IJ, so we're looking for a Dutch name (which is logical, as this painting is in a store in the Netherlands)(@Any Jewelry might also be able to help :)) I only have this pic.

Second sig, on a Shona piece.
    image3.jpeg
No idea what that first letter is, and then I read 'Kib', but I haven't been able to find any other Shona sculpture by an artist with that name.
    This is the sculpture (12cm)
    image6.jpeg
And any idea what the material is? Brown serpentine?

Hey, that's not an 80s-90s vessel! Maybe best to start a thread in Art.;)
    :bucktooth:
What looks like a Dutch IJ, could be a badly signed G. I read J Gionet, a French name.

It's a vessel for woodworm :D (and it could be from the 1880s-1890s :p)
That was actually my first thought when I read the signature. And the next leeter does indeed seem to be an i, and that wouldn't make sense after an IJ, but that G/IJ does seem to have two dots...

Probably badly signed, the paint didn't attach well because the brush was held lightly, or there was dirt on the brush. It happens.;)

@Marote , if you post them in the appropriate two forums, you'll get more help.:)

Now, if you have pre-Historic, pre-Columbian, Native American, Mexican, or general ethnic jewellery, or something Modernist, preferably in the appropriate forums, reader is your go to person.:D

I don't dare to post the painting sig in the art forum without having additional pics. I fear the wrath of @Debora if I post it without having a pic of the back :nailbiting:
