Its a vintage pendant with a stone and it has 3 marks up on the hook 92.5(9 hardly visible), LJF inside circle, and Standing craftsman with arms holding something down(side view)

look on ebay for sterling with LJF - otherwise, we really need to see an image of the item and mark... I think you're referring to an onyx pendant? I don't know enough about world sterling marks to know where a standing craftsman hails from?

    Have you checked "sterling .925?"

A picture is worth a thousand words. ;)

Mak - Using what you said in your opening post, I tried a couple very good silver marks sites without success. Since this is a piece of jewelry, I wasn't terribly surprised not to find a match there, though, since very few jewelry marks are documented on those sites. I know tiny marks can be hard to photograph, but please try.

I know I should always post a picture, but this is a question about a pendant I have seen today and I dont have it. I didnt buy it because it was a bit more than the beige onyx. The pendant in question looked like something vintage and was very beautiful, and I first explored the Net as much as I could before posting a question.

I think I should have got it. Its only that this site got me interested in so many different things, that I am buying too much these days.
I am in danger of being evicted together with my ol' stuff by my wife...

Not a problem asking, but just can't help much in that case... :(
and curious (nosey (sp?) to see it, in any case!
But even $5 items add up, so watch it... Nobody wants to see you evicted!
DO NOT get a storage locker! I just came back from mine I've been paying for for 10 years! it started out as storage for my personal effects and furniture til I had my own place, but now it's going to take a village to help me dispose of all my "rushes." FYI srsly!

I'll keep ya'll posted on that! Support appreciated, I feel pretty down about it, at times and have to ask for help.

That got all serious, but I'm pret-ty sure there are many on here who can relate, no?

Yes! Haven't gotten a good look at the top of my dining room table in the last 2 years! It was a staging area ... but since I rarely list anything, it's become a balancing act of sorts. ;) You have my support!

Most of stuff I buy is less than 2$, but it does add up.
Here, luckily concept of storage lockers has not yet been implemented, so I am safe.
Why are you closing down on yours after 10yrs?

Unreasonable love of quirkiness, impulse buys, rescues, ego boosters, learning opportunities - no end of reasons why I bought things - boredom, depression, loneliness.
I had to admit I wasn't going to sell all of it (for what I wanted).
I don't want to have to convince anyone they're worthy to be bought.
They were all good bargains, but now need to be rescued by someone else.

I know people, real hoarders, who are in much worse shape than I am - I don't think I'm delusional, just overwhelmed. And I work on estate sales - it's depressing to see how people with no money spend on nostalgia (Christmas!) etc. out of loneliness.

    Real, dat.

Things work little different than in US. We here have much lower standards of living and have many existential problems. For example, places where I generaly buy stuff are flea markets, where people of lower incomes come to buy cheap used clothes and shoes

Sorry, Makanudo - where are you?

I shop at the Goodwill, which is no longer a haven for low incomes, and still get great stuff, just not for pennies - But I also go to the worst neighborhood in LA where I have a good relationship with 2 liquidators. I never set out to be a seller. Now I only (try to) buy things I know are no-brainers and high markup.

    Everyone shops for different reasons.
