Featured WHAT AND WHEN IS THIS? I HAVE NO CLUE

    It is 26" tall and 11" wide.

    Nice piece,and it does look like both-
    Like a primitive Swiss Army toilet paper mag rack grain scoop.

    I think this is newish, made to look old. The carving is too crisp and the wear does not seem natural. The mended crack is too over the top. Really would expect an age crack to extend from the end rather than be in the middle like that. Maybe from India?

    India would be right. The added floral motif does point toward decorative (and recent.)

    My grandmother had something with that shape, but smaller and different look that she kept her table napkins in. She had my grandpa hang it on the wall in the kitchen. Her's was from the 70's I think

    If you click on the links provided it's a grain scoop. Do you think they were using square hand made nails in the 1970's in India?
