    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could help shed some light on this pitcher. It is a beautiful pansy pitcher with the initials BB '89 on the bottom. Could this be a Bybee Pottery item from the 80's?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Looks hobbyist done to me.
There used to be local ceramic shops where one could attend a class and do this kind of thing using their supplies. They'd then fire it and the hobbyist could pick it up when ready. My mother did this in the 1970s/80s several times.

Agree with the above. While Bybee used a BB mark, this is not their work.

Yes, I have heard of these classes or work shops. Whoever made this pitcher did an awesome job on it.

The floral motif looks to be a transfer, not hand-painted. But the hobbyist did a good job with the green glaze. :)
