It looks like a Welsh dresser. They sell nicely in their own market, but they're a bear anywhere else. I bet it went into a retail setting; most folks don't have tall enough ceilings.

Have not been seeing much. The divan shown above has been reduced to $50.00 for the past week or so and is still sitting :(.

I did spy this morris chair the other day. Think it priced a bit high at $99.00. Did not sell this past week.

They should bill it as a retro gamer chair. Just add cushions.

    Few more things.....

Thought these Spanish chairs interesting. Thought a bit over-priced at $99.00, given the condition. They really were as mismatched at the backs as the photo suggests.

This Japanese table was also $99.00 at a different thrift store. Picture really doesn't show the leg and skirt carving. Top is all inlaid with stones. Overall condition was pretty good. I think a good cleaning and a coat of wax would help considerably.

This is one I could not pass up. Only $30.00 at the same thrift as the Japanese table. Why they thought this worth considerably less is a mystery. Glad they did. Maybe because the paint is not original.

A few things seen this week. Prices seem to be creeping up a bit on better items at some of the thrifts. I did not buy any of these.

This nice walnut dresser with marble insert was $125.00. Very nice refinished condition.

This small buffet was $100.00 but sitting long enough to be marked down to $75.00.

These chairs were priced $7.09 each at a smaller town thrift store I only visit once a month or so. Their prices have remained cheap.

This painted trunk was $15.00 at the same thrift. Wouldn't take too much to strip this. Had the tray inside still.

Johnny posted a pair of chairs with striped upholstery in the finds thread. Though from about the same era, they weren't all that similar otherwise.

A few weeks ago the local Goodwill had a wanut drop-leaf table for only $12.00. The only thing I could see wrong with it was some minor staining on the top. I took a photo but accidently deleted it. Here is a very similar, almost identical one found on the internet. Table took a couple weeks to sell.
    thrifttable25.jpg

More recently, another thrift has this small refinished dresser for $29.00. Has been sitting for over a week now without taker.
    thriftdresser15.jpg

The same thrift has had this MCM dresser for just as long. Price is much less of a bargain at $149.00. Thought it worth showing since it is solid cherry by Willet. Not exactly what one thinks of with the brand. Top quality and really well worth the money.

Painted trunk above was reduced to $7.00 this past week. Really surprised no one has bought this.

Would have been tempted on the Willet piece for myself had I not just bought the Showers Bros. piece I showed on the previous page. It is larger and works spectacularly for my needs. Besides, it was 1/3 the price. I have started to dip my toe back into the business a bit but am not prepared to go back in to furniture. Kind of a shame since there are so many bargains to be had.

You really get some great bargains where you live Brad. I am fairly certain the thrift near me would have a few more hundred dollars on each piece.

Have not been seeing much but not out and about as much lately either.

This table with 3 leaves and 6 chairs was $149.00. Condition was pretty good other than worn original leather-like seats. I did not buy.

The following are some things I did buy. Library table/desk is from awhile ago. Had stashed it in the garage and just got around to photographing.

Unusual mission desk with nice hardware by Thompson Furniture Mfg. Co, Michigan. A little rough but was only $20.00 at a thrift store. Grabbed it just as it was being brought out. Foil embossed label has some writing in Spanish (or Latin?) that I can not make out. I thought the label would be easy to find but I can only find some paper versions on-line that are equally impossible to read. Any help is appreciated.

    Couple more things I bought....

Coat tree is a bit nicer than most and has an old brass tag from the local university. Six sided stem is a bit unusual. Does have one broken hook but I have some similar. Was only $6.00.

Old dresser mirror was only $4.00. Mirror is good. Just dirty in this pic.

Think I have the first line above....

Jefe entre iguales -- Leader among equals

Second line is harder. Can really only make out the center portion.....

    Calidad y -- Quality and

Last word could be Fuerza -- Strength
