Print By Joan Y McClure

1986 print by artist Joan Y. McClure, titled facets of Love, The Christmas Star, #1/25. Measures 23" X 33" including frame. I have not been able to really find any info about the artist. Just checking to see if anyone here may be familiar with her.

 

There was an artist Joan Y. McClure in Wilmington DE. In the following search results, two articles are dated 1969 and 1976 where her art was being exhibited in local establishments.

Maybe the search results will give you a direction, if this ends up being the same person.

Here's a 1987 mention... National Museum of Women in the Arts. b. 1934. A 34" x 36" lithograph entitled "Renewal." In the Holladay collection.

The artist is my grandmother! Joan McClure was a professional artist, teacher, and printmaker in Wilmington, DE. She now lives in Londonderry, NH. We have many of her prints, including another copy of this one- I remember seeing it in her house growing up. We can show you more of her work if you’re interested!
