This 23cm tall vase is one of a pair that I bought today. They have a super glaze and are signed on the base with a mark that I can’t make out.Can anyone help?

I think I’ve solved my own post again. Joan Serra. Do you agree?

So it is, my brain didn't register that. I can read both to some extent, so it didn't make much difference to me.

Really only pointed it out because the Catalans tend to be a bit -- how shall we say? -- chauvinistic.

Thank you all for your comments. Yes I agree that it is not Joan Serra but more likely Jordi Serra. Very difficult to date exactly.

Looking at the links you've kindly posted I don't know which of the family created the vases but they are very fine. Here is the pair. As you can see there is a distinct colour variation.

I followed your suggestion and Jordi Serra himself replied.

here is the response translated by Google from the Catalan
It is a pleasure to attend to your request about these two beautiful vases I think they are from the years 1940-45, they are majolica with ceramic glaze made in the Serra workshop and they are a magnificent example of the Art Deco style If you ever want to visit my museo serra workshop, you can see the quality of the pieces from my grandfather's art nouveau era, the pieces from the second generation of my father and two brothers, and mine until today I greet you attentively. Jordi serra”
