    Hi all!

I bought this poster a few years ago at an oline auction in my home country in Europe. I had the only bid, and with no reserve I didn't pay much for it. I am not sure if it is an original from 1945/1946 or a reproduction, but the frame and backside suggests that it was framed a long time ago. Outer measurements are approximately 61 cm x 45 cm Any information is appreciated.
    Thank you!

22.jpg The poster is not cut. The black vertical stripe on the right is the sun casting a shadow as the photo was taken outside.

Thank you. It fits with the size. But is the poster in the link a repro of the one from 1945 or an original? Sorry if it is a stupid question.

No such thing as a stupid question. The poster in link is in the collection of the Maryland's Enoch Pratt Free Library so... Original. Given the age of the frame and backing, I would assume yours original too (but could be wrong.)

    It appears to be colorized.

What I meant by original is that it is a poster from 1945 and not a reprint from decades later. But maybe I have misunderstood and that there is no such things as an 'original'.

Taking Wikipedia literally, I guess an original would be a page from one of those Sunday newspapers... showing the date. Associated press may have a policy that enables people to special order specific photos, but then you would need to know how such an order was fulfilled back then - the reproduction technique and the type of paper used. For an image in high demand they may have produced a poster-sized mass printing, but I don't know how such a thing could be authenticated.

I have a vague recollection of special ordering some image way back, and getting a print on photo paper, but that recollection is very, very vague. I don't remember who I ordered it from, when, or what the image was.
