D381D858-87C3-4CFB-BE08-C002C5E1A508.jpeg Trying to determine if this is a true antique signal cannon? There are no markings on it as far as possible maker that I can see. It has some kind of crest decoration and “65” as part of the decoration. Barrel is 10 1/4” long

The trunnions seem to show recoil distortion...an' there appears to be debris in the muzzle area, tho' the image is blurry. So it has probably been fired, repeatedly.
Its age is beyond my skills, but the casting seems to show an attempt to copy a much larger piece; the lifting eye looks to be at the balance, an' the original would probably have been large enough to warrant such a feature. All that cast-in decor would have been copied from the original, I think.
Very nice shooter, an' quite possibly of some historical importance. Thanks...

Yeah that one is pretty close!! Except for no wick hole and I think mine is either better made or just in a lot better condition

I'd be inclined to pay very little attention to a single word response with no explanation or justification...

Terry, that seems to convey a dismissive attitude...an' I can't imagine you meant it in that way.
No Blame, but some of us are a bit puzzled.

Toy for kids - not signal
Many old toys actually fired projectiles

Agree here that it is a toy and not signal cannon
