Featured Spode geranium dish thing

It's an original spode geranium serving dish with under plate. I'm not sure if it is supposed to have a lid or not. I'm struggling to find an example online for comparison. The blue room collection seems to be hampering my searches too.

    I have included a photo of my pint for Charlie. At the Canalside in Lymm.

    great tactile shape, and good colour, feel quite drawn to it

    i think 1848 might be the founders date though.... :playful::hungry:

    It is a tureen and may have had a lid, but the way the rim is constructed it doesn't look like it. I dunno, but nice that you have the underplate. More often that is lost, or used separately.

    Yes I'm in two minds with the lid. The dish doesn't have a seat for the lid to sit on. Some lids sit over the top though with a rim on the underside that holds them in place.
