So I found this whilst tearing down old cabins for a community service project. I don't know the age of it, or anything else except that I can't find any information on it anywhere online. Enlighten me, if you please.

Just an advertising mechanical pencil giveaway from Shapleigh Hardware Co

    Somewhere between 1940 and 1960

Lots of collectors of advertising and mechanical pencils. Most sell for around $5.00. Check on eBay to see if the hardware or the town it is from make it more collect able.

I'd say postwar. 1950s, 1960s. Nothing especially fancy.

Shapleigh Hardware Co operated in St. Louis from 1843 to the early 1960s.

At the moment there are about 150 items on eBay with Shapleigh Hardware on them. I didn't spot a mechanical pencil. You might look through the items incase I missed one.

Here's one on WorthPoint. I don't know how much it sold for or if it ever sold.

According to the following Wiki... article, Keen Kutter was a trademark used by Simmons Hardware Co of St. Louis from 1870 to 1940 when Shapleigh Hardware purchased the Simmons Hardware Co. Shapleigh added their name to the logo. Shapleigh used the trademark until it closed in the early 1960s. Sooo as others have said above, this Shapleigh mechanical pencil would date from the 1940s to the 1960s.

If you Google "Keen Kutter" you will find several mechanical pencils out there with that logo on them. They are advertising other hardware companies. Most of them do not have Shapleigh on the logo meaning they were supplied by Simmons Hardware Co. before Shapleigh bought them out. Examples:
