Celadon vases

    Hello, please help to identify the Chinese characters on this small vase?

    is it old?

    Very nice vase. Could you post a photo of the bottom, and let us know the height? I’m sure some will chime in and it helps to provide information.

    Nice vase, hipster. But what happened to the colour? It started out as celadon and then it turned blue?

    Hipster, was Just throwing a bit of humor out there.

    It is a nice looking vase, but which is it green or blue? I think it is trying to be Song, but highly doubt it. Others will come along with better information and hopefully a translation. Just a note the bottom bumps are called spurs which would date it at a minimum pre 1900’s unless a reproduction. Wait for the more informed than I.

    Is it porcelain? Usually, the characters are not scribed into the body, but painted on. Cool, but a pic of the base might help.

    Never heard of alexandrite except in glass.

    well I have to apologize for my daft sense of humor, I thought I made it clear I was joking, due to the photos posted in different colors. :banghead:

    a base was posted, just not full image.
