How did you find that? I've been looking for ages and found nothing like it. Thank you, although there are no marks so it's not by "metales Casados" but it's so much like their stuff. I found this photo but when I clicked on it to take me to the webpage the info and picture was gone so I can't find out anything more :( Oh even though I've downloaded the photo onto my computer I can't post it on here?

Metales casados means “married metals” in Spanish. The maker Los Castillo is just one of at least a few that mastered the technique.

Sorry, I must seem stupid, my only excuse is it's late here in the UK lol

Not stupid at all not knowing . I just happened to have handled many hundreds of pieces of Taxco jewelry, there’s loads of it in the American west and I currently own a couple Los Castillo married metals dishes.

Oh so I found the right person then, it's strange it's not marked, is a lot of it not marked or is it a copy?

    Could be an apprentice/student.
I’ve had only a few pieces of Mexican jewelry that was completely unmarked including one that was an exact copy of a William Spratling design. I listed it as after Spratling because it wasn’t marked, it went for the same amount a Spratling marked piece would have sold for.

Los Castillo fused the layers, your pieces appear to be soldered. So it is possible they are design copies and not made by Los Castillo.

I'm sure it is a apprentice/student piece, it would be marked otherwise. The only bit I'm puzzled with is the gold band on mine, all the other metals are present in that type of jewelry apart from a gold band that mine has, probably a natural progression if your inlaying metals but I can't find another one with gold?

Yeah I'm sure they are copies, they are unmarked but they do have weight and gold that the originals don't.

That doesn't mean it is an apprentice/student piece. It could have been made by any silversmith, anywhere, not just in Mexico. Especially since the technique seems to be different, as Holly remarked.
We have no proof where it was made, who by, or what the maker's status or grade was. It is well made, we do know that much.:)

I don't think it matters who made it, even the marked ones are selling just over the scrap value of the metal. It's nice to know about the item you have but really I want to know just in case I wanted to sell it and knowing the price of a item is a rule for me before I sell. I can't believe anyone would list something they don't know the price of. I'm very happy people do :)

I have tiny fingers & wrists. I have never bought either without having to have them sized or things removed. My last ring that was sized, they actually removed the karat marking, my husband had a fit, so they had to re do the shank.
