Neo Classical Style Console Table

I'm thinking about buying this console table for $110. The style is neo classical, but I feel like the carving style of the eagle is slightly sus... It looks almost Asian to me.

That 'Greek key' ornamentation looks more than 'almost Asian' to me.

 

Lol yeah, that was a red flag to me.

 

The "Greek key" is a "fundamental" Chinese design motif. That plus the treatment of the feather carving and the color of the wood certainly makes one suspect Asian.

the eagles face and legs.........that's not made in the USA......imo..

So modern repro probably Normally I'd still buy it but I have literally no space left in my apartment... Not sure. What would you do?

 

I'd stick to buying smaller items where you know what your getting into....!!

Lol yeah, agreed. I used to be just fine when I stuck to jewelry, then I got addicted to furniture, grandfather clocks, and rugs.

Good to be back! Hoping to stay for a while. I'm trying not to thrift anymore until I sell some stuff, but I have some great finds to show off still.

 

Seems like a good buy but I would probably save the money for something old.
