I thrifted this beautiful thread painting yesterday and it has me stumped! It's on blue fabric and is 4 embroidered horses running. The framing says Liverpool art museum and framing... I naturally thought the UK but it's actually Liverpool NSW Australia! I've scoured the internet and I cannot find it anywhere. The eyes of the horses suggest Asian or native American or Aboriginal. It's very intricate very detailed. IMG_20240416_182925.jpg

Would/could you post photographs of the entire piece including frame from both front and back. Also a close-up of the "framing says" information.

I'm struggling being able to take a picture of the entire thing with my phone and have it be a small enough size to post on this thread. I tried using my editor but I don't know if I need special programs or something to do it. Basically it won't let me shrink down my size

If you send the photo to yourself as an attachment in an e-mail, you should get the option to send it as a small, medium or large image. Medium usually gets you under 1MB and that's what you need to have to be able to post it here. And from the e-mail you receive, you can save it to post it here.
Or, if you have a computer with Paint, save the image to your computer, open it in Paint and resize it to the required size (usually around 37% of the original size if you didn't resize it earlier)

So... Here's the framer. In a suburb of Sydney. They've been in business 38 years. You might want to contact them to see if they remember your piece. You can also ask when they moved from 34 to 60 Memorial Avenue which will give you some idea of the age of your piece (assuming it was new when it was framed.) Looks Chinese to my eye.

It looks Chinese, probably inspired by Chinese paintings of horses, which is a genre in Chinese painting.
It is beautifully made. Unfortunately we can't see the back, but I wonder if it is handmade.

    Welcome, @Tiffanyann57.
Your closeups are a little blurry, so it is difficult to see, but it might be helpful if you can tell if the fibers look like silk - smooth and shiny - or like wool, which would look duller, and slightly rough/hairy. This may provide a clue as to likely origin.

If you still have photos in your file, you could try a google image search. They frequently turn up our discussions here.

Also amazing work. Your horses are more realistic though. OP's horses are like you see on traditional Chinese folding screens etc.
