IMG_1533.jpeg IMG_1534.jpeg IMG_1531.jpeg Hi everyone. We purchased a 1906 hardware store and it came with 12 Alcoa stools. We’ve been trying to identify them for age/style. We found a few similar styles without backs and it seems like they’re from the 1930’s?
Here’s a few pics. Thank you!

Thanks Debora! That’s such a big help. We should’ve come on here first.

It was essentially empty except for the original display cases and counter. We ended up selling the cases and we’re repurposing the counter for a bar. It’s been a lot of work, but pretty cool so far. We’re living in a hardware store lol

Welcome, Pa Couple. I had the same thoughts as Johnny. I recall seeing an episode of American Pickers where they were able to ransack an old hardware store that had bin after bin of NOS period hardware from the turn of the century (going from memory). It was incredible.

    Welcome, Pa Couple. Great stools.:)

I love hardware stores. Rows and rows of drawers filled with surprise stuff that you are bound to need for something or other. And old hardware stores are even better.

These look like soda fountain or lunch counter stools. Not sure why they would be used in a hardware store. I think 30s for an earliest date is about right. Imagine they were made the same for a lot of years up until the war. Can't see these being made during and post-war. Alcoa was certainly not known for making furniture.
