Featured Netsuke identification please multiple pieces

#2 and #3 are Japanese in their subject matter, and do look like ivory. The painted ones, imo, are modern Chinese carvings with Chinese subjects.

I can see why you thought to go after these......the carving is superior..

 

I wonder what it represents? Ancient proctology checkup?

I guess the last one is an okimono rather than a netsuke since there are no holes. Fantastic pieces the unpainted ones are! I’d want to get the signatures translated in case you have a more collected artist in there. I’d have snapped them up in a heartbeat if I could have them at a good price.

 

It's bass-ackwards around here; ivory can't be sold no matter the age, so the resin ones actually have more resale value. (higher than zero) That said, someone did a seriously good job making those.
