Large Woven basket, can you help with age? material and origin?

The material appears to be unpeeled rattan - the weavers are split, and the handle whole. The technique is similar to European traditional stake and strand work (historically using willow), but rattan has been imported from its origins in southeast Asia since at least the 19th century. It does not look particularly well made. The rim treatment is something I have seen more on Chinese baskets, rather than the European willow tradition.

Where did you find it?

 

a good hard working basket....
I passed on 20 of those at my good will yesterday.....
but only after watching two asian women...inspect every basket item in the store.
I was wondering what they were looking for ...
