Lovely lizard, it looks SW style.
I see different colour patterns from different angles, so I would guess genuine opal, not lab.:) But check it yourself by slowly moving it in different angles.

im so happy if it is Aj, never had any opal before, theres definite movement

even though the stones are small, as beautiful as i thought it would be

gonna keep it but get a better chain for it

And I should have been more clear, by SW style I meant the style of the Southwestern US.;)

And lab opal without question. When you see a Southwestern US design item with opal inlay, they're 99.99% chance of lab opal. Real ones are fragile and hard to cut into shape. The lab opals are flat slab and can be cut at need. They're also stable. There may be a Native smith somewhere using real opals, but there can't be many.

That said, $5 is a tag it and bag it price.

If this is a commercially made piece, and it has a copyright symbol so that's almost a lock, it almost has to be synthetic opal. There's no way they could make a hundred or more identical ones with real opal and pray to actually get 100 usable ones..unless they started with 200.

    Nice find for 5!!!

I found this video helpful in the quest for opal knowledge. Could it be better? Yes. Was it quite helpful? Yes.

Based on the little I know I’d agree with lab created.
