Some super cool pieces have turned up from a recent pick. This one is marked but I'm no expert in this field. Jeweler said its not real gold but the stones might be real. Any help is greatly appreciated as always.

Pretty thing. I wish we could see the marks more clearly. Just a thought, but sometimes people can be wrong . I once showed some spoons to a antique shop owner who swore they were silverplate from the 1920s or so.No,they were coin silver from the 1820s !

I'm working on getting a better photos of the markings. I'm trying to shoot through a loupe held up to an iPhone and it's not really working out.

I wasn't familiar with that so I had to look it up. After looking at the mark sideways, it looks like it's an eagle.

BTW....stick pins are an addiction. Not one has ever made it into our eBay stores...

You are correct! I used to know that but it went poof. Wife has collected these for years now. These and antique powder music boxes are her vices. Me? At my age the only thing I'm collecting is dust.

I meant eagle, don’t mind me. Total brain fart. If I’d added French gold it might have made more sense.

That's the clearest eagle mark I've ever seen lol. I was about to say congrats on the 18k, but looking at that website maybe not so much? 18k would have a cartouche around it, this one doesnt.. confused now

The details are blurred, but it looks like the one that was in use in Paris since 1838, it was adopted in the rest of France ('Province') along with the eagle in cartouche in 1919.

There are, however, also eagle marks on base metal with gold, but they have bits and bobs on the eagle's head.
Due to the blurriness and Covid eyes I can't see if those bits and bobs are present here, so tagging eagle eye @kyratango .:cyclops:;):)

The Paris one, right? Could you post a link for that?
