Today was kitchen finds day . I had a battle royal with self to leave behind 4 exquisite cut glass bowls. Not a chip on them and just gorgeous. But I did pick up these ...Westinghouse refrigerator dishes,cant figure what the yellow is

Not really ! I just assume to hold something.The yellow one is weird because the lid is on the bottom and the majority of the bulk is in the top?

 

Maybe the yellow one is a butter dish. When butter was sold in 1 lb blocks. If not butter, maybe cheese?

These are really cool! I wonder if they came with the refrigerator?

I hit the Spring opening day of a local food bank's thrift today. Spent $40 on three Longaberger baskets with liners, a Chinese freshwater set with 14k clasps, two $1 pairs of earrings that like magnets, some pearl and sterling earrings .... and a 10k bracelet. It's nothing fantastic, but at $150 in scrap I'm not complaining!

On the way home I went to my skid row thrift store and bought a small vase and a leather purse. Israeli vase and COACH purse. $3 is what they wanted for the pair, but I handed the lady a 5 and wouldn't take change.

Oh yes.... At that food bank thrift a wallet was sitting. In its box, with its dust bag. And with its code printed inside. Louis Vuitton multicolor monogram design, and I'm 99.99% sure it's real. $5. You can't make this stuff up. The Longaberger baskets were the same price as a Louis Vuitton wallet.

 

people like to donate to the food bank...... and u like to pick their pockets !!

 

Darned tootin! The Louis' number on the inside comes back as Invalid, but it looks awfully darned good.

Yes,the lid on my yellow one is on the bottom. I didnt think so either until Ineedhelp posted that link.

but if it's the lid and base not the design.....I guess one could use it for butter..
