You've helped me solve this mystery bon bon dish (https://www.antiquers.com/threads/russian-and-english-marks.83581/#post-9736722) but the 916 mark, ostensibly a 1927 soviet remarking of English silver, remains not fully solved. I found fully oval 916 marks used between 1927-1958 on items heavier than 10g, and the shovel shape used during this period on items lighter than 10g. My mark is a truncated oval, and is not addressed anywhere I could find. I found one Russian mark guide, out of context and in Russian (which I can't read), showing this mark. It features the star which came into use only after 1958. So this mark is somewhere in between. Can anyone shed more light?

Thanks! I have found online the complete guide from which the photo above was taken, and the mark in question was also used after 1927. So problem solved. I'll attach the link for the scanned book later (although it's in Russian, it might be of assistance to anyone interested).
