Featured The Silver Gods Were Most Generous!!

I usually never go to the Salvation Army thrift stores on Wednesday. That's because it is Senior Day and everything is 25% off. Nothing against seniors (I do qualify for the 55+ discount, myself!) but the stores get really crowded.

I walked by this water pitcher TWICE before looking at it. Much to my shock, it's Gorham sterling silver!!! WOOHOO!!! How this item managed to get out on the floor is amazing in itself but to still be there at 430pm on SENIOR DAY??? I was speechless!!

Oh, I forgot! The price? $9.99. Then take off an additional 25% for SENIOR DAY!!

 

That's incredible. What a find!!! Curious, was any kind of label covering the silver stamp?

Ive NEVER found one darn thing in the Sally Ann here. I quit going there ages ago. Nothing 'decent' ever makes it to the floor here.Great find !

Once in a blue moon I've seen a really nice item show up late in the day at a thrift. I've almost wondered if employees ever set something out for someone (or for themselves) hoping that in the 30 minutes before they got off work no once noticed it and they could then purchase it. Or possibly they texted someone and the item was only on the shelf for a minute, but lucky for you, you were walking by.

The mark is so distinct, it's hard to believe all those seniors missed it.

Someone just plain missed it, or we've all seen so many junk plated pitchers that they all mistook it for just one more. I always look too, just in case I get lucky. The closest Sally to me hasn't had anything but worthless ecch in years, not that it's near enough to hit more than once every few months.
