so dark green it looks black

    bristol? only after holding this decanter up to the direct sun could I get it light enough to photograph so you can see that it is green... it looks black in regular daylight - it is heavily cut and faceted - my guess is 1830-40's ? I know it must be before the onslaught of fine glass that was produced in the 1880's - it reminds me of the glass that was used for early apothecary... the weird thing is when you look at the polished bottom it has a sparkling plethora that I can only describe as the Milkyway...
