A beautiful looking set, but there is this:

Chipped crystal, dented silver, and the seller says "not an obstacle for usage", which means you can use it but it isn't an investment.

Buy it if you can't live without it. But I would wait for an undamaged one.

I did get a message back, she said she didn't mean dents, she meant one leg is slightly curved. There is apparently only the one chip to the crystal, which she took a photo of.

Ah, OK. Is this her first listing? She seems to have trouble describing the issues. The good thing for you is that it could put other bidders off.

 

Nope she has 6 pages of listings, all similarly listed haha. Yes its still there which is comforting and surprising. I'm thinking of making a small offer to combat the shipping expense.

 

just the number of different marks........but you seem to have a good handle on them now !!

 

the handle does look off centre .....but only slightly.....and a dented leg would make the whole ...unstable.......again , slightly...

they may be underestimating the glass weight....but silver is heavy as well.....so...

If it turned up in a jumble sale I'd give it house room. I am however a dyed in the wool cheapskate and won't pay market rate. We Murricans never see anything like that, for any price. Unless we pay the shipping from Europe of course - think the price as shown but add a good 45 pounds.

 

I think honestly I got a bargain. Not my usual budget but it'll hold it's value in the silver at least, for which I paid less than scrap for. I'm asking about the shipping price as it's 35e from Austria, seems a little steep.

The seller satisfied all the concerns I had so I made an offer of 175, and she accepted!

This is now the oldest piece in my collection, and I'll love using it.

BUT no more spending for Rachel! I'm putting myself on a small monthly allowance, and no more big spending this year. I've got a driving license and two trips to pay for already! I doubt I'll visit eBay again as a buyer until winter.

That is probably insured shipping. Doesn't seem too bad for an item this size. If it were a delicate pendant I would have questions.
