    Hello, I purchased these gorgeous pieces and have so many questions. They are Haviland Limoges bouillon dishes (I think), but the age, pattern, and other info have been tough to locate. Are there any experts out there who can help me out? The saucers are square with scalloped corners and measure about 5.5" across. The cups/bowls are just over 2" tall. the top opening is about 3.25" across (not including the lovely handles.)
    Thanks in advance

    I think that's the late 19th century mark, so 1880's or so. Fits right in with the emerging Aesthetic style of the pieces - you see very similar handles on some Worcester of the same period. Haviland usually used numbers for patterns - if there's a hand scripted number on the bases of some that's probably your pattern.

    Hello @Jsimp & welcome to the forum!! :happy::happy:

    FYI - I tried an image search using both Google & on Replacements Ltd. but had no luck. You did show up as number 1 on Google so the bots are doing their job. :rolleyes::p

    Great photos BTW!! :happy::happy:

    Thank you, I am debating whether to keep or sell these. They are unlike anything I can find online. Even the one I did find on Replacements Inc. that is similar is...different. The pattern embossed into the piece is stunning. They are also very thin, very fine cups. The square saucer is also really unusual to my research. I fear I am deep in a rabbit hole on this one, lol. Hoping more folks will chime in so I can make up my mind.

    Wikipedia notes the following:

    "It is estimated that there are as many as 60,000 Haviland porcelain patterns, though it is difficult to determine as many of the patterns have never been formally named or catalogued, and factory records are incomplete."

    How many do you have? You can always put 1 or 2 out there for a price you would be more than happy to get & add the best offer just to see what will happen.

    Depending on how many you have you can keep a couple just to look at if someone does buy them but depending on the price you might be just as happy to sell them all. ;):D:D

    The problem with these types of pieces is no one has fancy dinner parties where bouillon is served in a covered dish with an underplate. I used to buy porcelain dinnerware all the time but stopped a few years back. I am extremely picky about what I buy now & rarely do it without researching the pattern first. It also usually has to be a really cheap price. :rolleyes::rolleyes:
