    How odd it has been inverted especially as it stands slightly proud on a blob of gold like a wax seal. The blob tests very positively 9ct.

    Don't they make this thicker type to have relics inside? I do think it is soldered shut, but maybe it has something inside or was made from the same mold from the type that unscrew?

    Very few hollow crosses have relics inside, most of them are simply hollow because of the cost, just like a lot of other 19th century jewellery.
