Can't help you with the missing parts, but the figure is the Muse Urania.

Something that caught my eye while poking around for any readily available info was a statement that the market for these was France, that the French left few of them around for anyone else.

Can I ask where you found it? It constantly blows my mind that ppl get rid of things like this that are both so elaborate, and, from 1840!!

So I just got back from the clock shop that I go to and it seems that the dial that came with this case is not the one that goes into it. Previous owner tried to make it fit its a 1/4 inch to big and since I have not been able to find any information on it its going to make restoring tricky. So we are starting with the dial first and will go from there I will keep up dating this thread as I go.

I'm in the habit of picking up orphan clock case . . . this one also French is circa 1890, a masterpiece of nickel plated plated iron work, 23" tall and 25 lbs. A real relic of Medieval design.[IMG]
