Houseful did better than I did this weekend! Woot!

My cousin asked for pix of one piece, so these were uploaded more quickly than usual. The first day was a loss - spent a grand total there of $9.25, $3 of which was on a big jar of honey. The pictures are of day 2's haul. I'd nabbed the red one hoping for bakelite, but it's glass. The blue ones are Italian, but only half the beads are sommerso. The cranberry vase may be Kerry if I'm lucky. The hearts were just marked LL and they're costume. One set of earrings that looks like stone..isn't. Darnit.

The good piece is in the last shot. The pin does have a real opal, but the earrings are damaged. One opal doublet or triplet is missing its money layer. The dragon may be ivory, but I almost hope not, because it would have to be Asian ivory. The prize is the brass and glass necklace. Art Nouveau wanna-be, but it has a sport ring and amber glass stone. Not a mark to be had.

I picked up this terribly gaudy mirror at a garage sale. The lady said it was her mother in laws and she hated it,and her ! I paid $5,and I guess it had never been cleaned .I almost didnt grab it for that reason. It was black ! I drug it outside and scrubbed with a brush and some dawn and I was gobsmacked when I finished. Its actually gesso, and much nicer than i thought.

No idea on the fishie, but the spoon is a beaut. Now to keep your eyes peeled for the rest of the set. Odds are there were six in a box. Hanging out in here is dangerous; now you need to go hunting for the other five. Right?

Yes we can hunt if you have the correct permit and weapon, it goes on in the sticks quite regular.
    Personally I don't like it.
I was tricked into eating a steak and kidney dinner back in 85, it was edible but not what mamma used to make.:D
It was road kill venison, a bit rich for me.

One hit the side of my sons van a few years back, it ran off , but he saw it the next day with its hind leg hanging.
He shot it and had it butchered and I got a few Bambi burgers :D

I'm more of a cold water white fish or chicken person myself and bacon or pork chops.

I'm salivating now, I better get some whisky:cool:

Fried deer nuggets are a gift from God ! I could eat my weight in them. Fortunately I dont get them often now. Ill take a nice piece of fish and a few shots of your whiskey hoard any day . :)

Marie is correct in the wording between flashed & stained. This would not have been expensive glassware at the time but they sure are cute & will be a lovely addition to your Easter table.
