So I made friends with a wonderful woman who runs an antique store, and it was going out of business so she was doing a 50% off sale. At the same time, I was on a new antidepressant and had my first purely manic episode, so dropped nearly 20k (my entire life savings lol) on some furniture.

Some pictures to begin. I'm having trouble uploading all of the images (keep getting an alert they're too big), but let's start with the most expensive item I've ever purchased. It's an 8-foot tall door. Not shown (yet) are the carved stone surrounds. There were also approximately 8-foot long white sandstone or limestone stabs (one with an ornate border (little points along one edge), and a stack of crates of other pieces of the stone surrounds, which I haven't unpacked. It was $3700! The seller told me it's several hundred years old and that it was a temple door. 972B5F28-5328-447B-8286-6166B79DFAEA.jpg 49483F08-8AA0-4183-86B4-1EF300D9A9E7.jpg

Very likely. It is definitely Indian. Could also be a door to a havelli or some such.
The metalwork all looks pristine btw, I am not seeing much age there. I could be wrong.
It could be antique, but given that it would have been outdoors in a taxing climate, I don't know if it was several centuries old. I also don't know if these are faked. But even if it is only 30 yrs old, it has some very nicely detailed carving.
@808 raver , do you know?:)
    Ditto?

I know someone who is bipolar. He has put his savings into a trust, so he can't get at them during his manic episodes. Maybe an idea?
