Featured Porcelain Figural Vase

    Try as I might, maybe because of the blue base colors, this piece continues to mystify me as to likely age, region (Austria?), maker. There is only one non-descript mark on the underside, accompanied by what looks to be a "5".

    For size, the tallest point is just under 11" high.

    Might anyone here have an educated guess? Thanks in advance for your help.

    (Yes, and the little guy's pinky finger is partially missing.)

    Hmmm.... So, I was looking to see if I could find any more links or images of similar pieces, but I'm not quite sure what to even call him or the instrument he's playing.

    Id call him a satyr and hes playing a flute ?

    He doesn't have hooves for feet so I would not call him a satyr.

    The mark in the photo that Debora posted is for Karl Ens, circa 1900-1919.

    Here's a snippet on Google books from 'Marks on German, Bohemian, and Austrian Porcelain' by Roentgen.

    Id have sworn he did, I also thought his cowlick was a horn ! Might be time for a trip to the eye doctor.
