Found a couple of brooches today. One is a ceramic piece with limoges on the back and a Fragonard style design painted or printed on the face. The other is a silver plate piece with a stone/glass setting in it. Both the clasps looks to be pretty old.

Cool thanks. No safety clasp and pin doesn't protrude over edge of brooch...?

Yup, that’s fine for then. Stone one might be German or Czech.

Is the stone one missing a ring of diamanté’s in those cups?
It’s pretty already but more bling never hurts!

They both look newer than 30s to me. The faux Fragonard/courting couple are usually 1950s. The other doesn't look any older.

Never crossed my mind. Possibly. Although I can't see any evidence of claws for settings. If there were stones there maybe they were glued?

I also saw many of them in the 60s, but the hinge on this one does look 1930s to me. The hinge-clasp combo too.

The stone on the other one is probably glass.

The hinge and clasp on both look thirties. The other thing on the Fragonard is that embossed mould mark on the plaque. That’s pre war and the thing is heavier better quality. The later ones are thinner, whiter and usually printed and/or hand signed.
