What do you mean by flashed, I don't follow.

This sale was incredible! From the same place, we got a 1971 Mickey Mouse bank, old books back to 1903, the round table that I posted, a "music box" teapot, and so much more! We were so blessed to have the finds that we got!

 

The colour is flashed into the glass.

 

Hard to believe this is 40 yrs old!!

 

It was beyond unreal. The family apparently moved the relative into a home, and were emptying the house for its sale and a "quick win".

 

Ah, but it was apparently a life well-lived. Sometimes it's the owner who wants it done ASAP and is having relatives handle it, as was the case with one of my grandmothers. Other times it's necessary to pay (or cut costs) for the next chapter of their lives as soon as they can. Now you're getting to enjoy (or pass on to someone else) some thing they enjoyed for a time.

 

I'm pretty sure the color is stained onto the glass. Flashing is a layer of glass on top of the base layer, a double dip of the gather.

 

9ct Chain £1 from Charity shop, earrings from a Spring Fair.
Had to stump up £15 for the earrings but still a good deal.
The foo dogs, Jenny Packham dress and First Edition Adrian Mole all came from a jumble sale. The book is sadly water damaged but I’m sure still worth more than the 20pence I paid.
