G E C Occupied Japan mark with a leaping deer

    I was lucky enough to find this sweet gold heart designed demitasse size cup and saucer set. I can't find the GEC makers mark anywhere. Small producer?

    GEC will be either the exporter (a Western owned exporter) or the importers/retailers mark which they had the factory put on for them. Just like we do with branding today. Chances of finding out who they are is usually slim, but research Japanese importers/retailers of the period is the way to go.
