COCK AND HEN TWO-EGG EGGCUP HAS ME COCK-A-HOOP

    Although it was bought in England, the seller thought it to be French, and I agree with him.

    I've never ever seen a double-eggcup using a cock and hen figural. Those I have seen, have been very bland. Made of fired clay, it carries neither a maker's mark or origin, so potentially may prove very old, prior to 1891.

    It is not in perfect condition. Cockerell has no comb and a chipped tail; Hen has a chipped head. Both have small cracks, crazing, and chips on the rim.

    Although I haven't it yet, the photos are good, and I think it is quite rare.

    Does any member have one, or has come across one?
