Hey there, im new here and was hoping this was a good place to figure out some items I have.

I found this soap stone sculpture and cannot find any info on it. The writing appears to say "EELIEYh(maybe lowercase n or h) 7571"

The writing is messy so its either EELIEYH 7571 or EELIFYN 7571 or any other combo. Tough to say and hard to get a clear photo of.

We prefer that you post your pictures here rather than on another site.

    Here are instructions:

You might want to copy and save this for reference for a while....it helps when you're new!!!

For Future reference, when posting images:

Each image MUST be UNDER 1 MB....
There are instructions on site here on how to reduce the size of your image, if that is the problem......you are allowed up to 10 images per post!!! Here are some links to the instructions:

Try emailing them to yourself as "medium" size, they should then be under 1 MB!

    If on the computer:

    If on an iPhone:

And if on an Android phone:

As an added note, when you have your photos LISTED, BUT BEFORE you hit POST, please click on the wording that says to "INSERT EVERY IMAGE AS FULL IMAGE" !! That way, we're not clicking on little thumbnails, but get to see all of the images full sized!! Thanks! Remember, it takes a bit for MOST new members to get the hang of it, but it's really quite simple once you get used to it!!!" If you still have questions, DON'T hesitate to ASK!!!!

You should apply this preference to the other threads you have started or posted to.

The base seems to have an obscured disc number. The disc numbers were assigned to the Inuit at a time when there were no surnames and Inuit lived a semi nomadic existence. They were issued medallions each beginning with the prefix E for eastern arctic or W for western arctic. Yours is scratched to the point where it is impossible to make out clearly. Sadly the piece is damaged beyond repair. I will look again when I’m in front of a large monitor to see if I can make out the number any better…
