I believe it to be from 1856. Jerome and Co. 20240306_134646.jpg 20240306_134709.jpg

I might score this clock this weekend.

I reckon American 1860-1880 slate Ansonia.
But you can bet your bottom dollar its gone before I get there.

Its in a clearance I have priced up, the relatives are attending from out of town on Saturday to pick up some personal items, I bet this is one of them, we will see.

You never know... if the relatives are not into antiques a clock you actually have to wind may not be their cup of tea :)

Davey does "house clearances" as his main job. In some cases he gets a fair portion of the contents which he is free to sell to make more out of the deal.

In the UK when someone dies the relatives sometimes contact someone like me to empty the contents of the deceased persons home.
I charge them a fee for clearing the property, all the contents and trash become mine.
I visited this property last week with keys from the estate agent (realtor)
I worked out a price the relatives will have to pay me to clear the property, they agreed.
Some personal items still have to be removed by the relatives, mostly paper work and domestic appliances.
The clock and a few other items of interest to me were not mentioned, so hopefully I will get them.
