I picked this up recently, mostly out of curiosity. It is 7" long, 2" high and hollow inside. The opening on the top is 3 1/2" wide. It's a pretty thing even with the damage. It is signed Made in Austria on the bottom in script. Does anyone know what it is for or how old it is? I was thinking maybe a planter of some sort. Thanks for looking and any thoughts.

Bamboo. Isn't that sweet? I'd think a little planter too.

… for succulents or maybe epiphytes. A bamboo one is really nice, they usually looked like logs. I wonder if an orchid would live in it.

A sort of posy ring, except in the shape of a bamboo?

It’s very much in the Worcester style.

Thank you all... any ideas on how old it might be? I had to look up epiphytes and now I learned a new word. We call them air plants here in Florida. I am keeping it and will put either a succulent or air plant in it.

I'm not seeing bamboo...but the fault is certainly mine. A very nice piece of porcelain, Lizzie!

    Yes...of course!
The leafy growth at the joints (culms?), without stems, was unfamiliar to me...but obviously bamboo.
