Featured Questions about an older NAGA necklace.

My friend purchased this in the 1980s from someone she knew -- at that time it was represented as being an older necklace, not brand new. My friend wants to put this in our "lunch fund". (I've spoken of that before -- she gives me the goods, I list on Ebay, all proceeds go to "lunch fund" and we eat!)

It does seem to have some genuine age, almost an antique? Do I need better shots of the clasp, which is actually a coin? Also I see others calling this style, "Konyak Naga".

Somehow I'm thinking @Any Jewelry might have run across similar. All opinions welcome. Should I just list as "Vintage (or antique?) Cobalt glass NAGA necklace? Anyone recognize the coin? Thanks.

The blues in the beads vary a bit which is hard to see when it is all together.

 

These blue ones are my favourite ones. This is an authentic one, clearly worn.

They often used coins. Later ones usually have buttons, although some makers still use old coins.

Yes, it is Konyak, which is one of the Naga tribes.

It's a King George VI coin, so that tells you the oldest it could be.

That is tremendously helpful. I looked at the India side of the coin and it all looked like squiggly marks I couldn't begin to interpret. Yet here were the numbers 1944 all along. Good spotting that, Moreother!
