Odd component on Versace necklace

Discussion in 'Jewelry' started by GiveMeOldJewelry, Feb 29, 2024.

  1. I have no idea what that clip mechanism on back of the pendant is for. Bulky & heavy, it can't simply be there to clip on part of garment while wearing as necklace. My husband thought it might be a money clip but the clamp has an inner clip which would be unnecessary for that purpose. Also, the pendant is NOT detachable, which further limits the clip/clamp's purposes imo (ie: belt buckle etc). I'll post a series of pics so that the final two might make more sense. Any thoughts?

P.S. I've looked thru about 2,500 listings for Versace, hoping to see something similar, with no luck.

  4. I'll keep trying but no matter what I do system won't allow photo upload because "file too large".

  5. It is stamped Versace in a couple of places. So far, I can't post the pics.

For Future reference, when posting images:

Each image MUST be UNDER 1 MB....
There are instructions on site here on how to reduce the size of your image, if that is the problem......you are allowed up to 10 images per post!!! Here are some links to the instructions:

Try emailing them to yourself as "medium" size, they should then be under 1 MB!

    If on the computer:

As an added note, when you have your photos LISTED, BUT BEFORE you hit POST, please click on the wording that says to "INSERT EVERY IMAGE AS FULL IMAGE" !! That way, we're not clicking on little thumbnails, but get to see all of the images full sized!! Thanks! Remember, it takes a bit for MOST new members to get the hang of it, but it's really quite simple once you get used to it!!!" If you still have questions, DON'T hesitate to ASK!!!!

You put the earpiece in the clamp, lenthwise. Close clamp. It's for holding cheap readers you don't really care about but don't want to lose either. Highly unlikely to be legit Versace. They mark the bejeebers out of everything they make.

  13. Lol, hadn't even got around to thinking about that aspect because I was so puzzled about the darned clip. Now I know what it is, I can go back to work. Thanks for all the info all!

The OP said it was marked in two places. It seems like an odd thing to make a copy of, but certainly follow up research needed.

That's a fairly elaborate piece to not be genuine. Looks like an iteration of the VERSACE logo. 2008 to present. A good quality close-up would be helpful.

I thought the same, but didn't see a second mark anywhere, unless it's on the front of the necklace round whatsit, where it can't be seen in these photos.
